I recently heard a rumor that the Jordan brand planned on releasing Jordans 1-23 in all white. More importantly the 2010 lineup of the brand was released and I’m thinking it looks pretty strong. But the best has yet to come for ’09. November 25th(ish) is the re-release of the oh so sexy Jordan number 11’s bka the space jam jordans. ooooh weeee!

Potentially the best tour of the year… or ever…

September 30, 2009 1 comment

The heart of the city tour was life altering. Not to mention I was there in style in skybox at the United Center which made the experience twice as amazing. Hov is the most impressive (hip-hop) performer of our generation, I stand firmly behind that statement and I have seen the best of the best. Then add NERD and Wale with UCB (yay for live hip-hop bands) with a little bit of J. Cole (jay’s protege) and you have a lineup of headliners.

I do not plead the fifth…

Welcome back…hope you’ve been well and if you haven’t then find yourself some Cannabis and cure your ills. Yeah, that’s right. I said it. I’m not ashamed. I’m a working member of society and I see no wrong with Cannabis. Hell, Cannabis is part of my lifestyle, and I must say that there are a lot of people who share my lifestyle. We are everywhere…so stop hating…or we’ll find you…and get you high as balls. You know what on the topic of being blazed. Do you guys have certain rituals that you guys use when smoking or do you guys listen to certain music? Because I know I do. I like these guys called Easy Star All-Stars. They’re a reggae group who cover popular albums by great artists. They did Pink Floyd’s classic Dark Side of the Moon(their cover album was  called Dub Side of the Moon). They also did Radiohead’s OK Computer(Radiodread) and The Beatle’s Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band(Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band). Hell, you don’t even have to be intoxicated to enjoy these guys. I just really like reggae more when I’m puffing the magic dragon. I know you think I’m being cliché as hell but f**k what ya heard. Let’s be real. Reggae is that shit when you lit. Well that’s enough from me now. Just make sure you give these Easy Star All-Stars a try. Peace until next time. -ShortStoryNights-

P.S. – Here’s a track(With a Little Help from My Friends cover) to try and convince you…

Video of the week 9/21

September 22, 2009 Leave a comment

This marks the beginning of a new era. What does that mean? Well, I watch a lot of videos via youtube, vimby, vimeo, and any methods of online video distribution and its getting to the point where I’m hardly entertained by most of what’s out there. So my plan is to give you guys the most entertaining and/or interesting videos I can find. Some might be a little vintage but work with me.

Tribute to his airness

September 17, 2009 Leave a comment

Let’s be truthful, Mike had the greatest career in the NBA thus far. As Hov put it, “men lie, women lie, but the numbers don’t”. With that being said I will stop arguing Kobe’s case until he has the numbers and agree that Mike remains on top of the food chain in the NBA. The most amazing part of Jordan’s legacy is what he’s done for shoes. When he wore his first sneaker designed by Peter Moore (red & black Jordan 1’s) they were banned by NBA officials because of NBA color rules which gave the shoes more media attention. Since Mike has made it to the Hall of Fame there have been several top ten list (favorite moments, favorite shoes, greatest shots etc…). The “official” top ten sneaker list is pretty dope, I can’t deny that, but I was shocked when my two favorite pair, the spike lee mikes & the red and black IV’s, didn’t make the list.
